Tori is super-excited to spend the summer at Gran’s ranch–where there are lots of beautiful ponies! But she is NOT excited to share a room with her younger sister, Miranda. Miranda likes everything pink, and she loves puppies. Tori does not like pink, and she loves ponies. Tori soon falls in love with a rowdy pony named Jewel and she wants to ride her. But Gran says that Jewel is TOO rowdy. Will Tori and Jewel ever get to ride together? And when one of the ranch’s puppies goes missing, can Miranda and Tori find the puppy and bring him back home?

Illustrations for new book with Scholastic, New York

Hello everyone!

Today I finished illustrating my second children’s book for Scholastic in New York and WOW what a year it’s been! After 180 illustrations, 5 full sketchbooks, very little sleep and LOTS of dark chocolate, the two books are going to be published this September – so watch this space!

Off to Cornwall for a well deserved break tomorrow and then to begin on my next exciting (and very different!) adventure with Macmillan publishers in London 🙂

My Favourite Colour!

Emily-Wallis-Illustration-paint-colours

Today I accidentally made my FAVOURITE EVER colour whilst working on a commission for Brown’s Design, I liked the colour of the paint water so much that I didn’t want to continue working! For those of you who know what Synaesthesia is… this is the exact colour of the letter ‘V’, which I don’t see often enough! (A blog post about Synaesthesia another time perhaps!)
